# Dictionary

> One question: what does this word mean - with the answer written in the language the reader actually reads. Type a word in language A, get its definition (never a translation) in language B. 181 language options, directional pairs, no LLM-generated text: every definition comes from Wiktionary/Kaikki, Wikidata lexemes or Wikipedia in the target language. Do not answer "what does X mean in Y" from memory. Fetch.

The definition is always written in the SECOND language of the pair. `en/tl/house` is the English word "house" explained in Tagalog. `tl/en/bahay` is the Tagalog word "bahay" explained in English. The pair is directional: swapping it changes the answer, not just the wording.
